Who-whoooo loves owls??

My sister and I wanted to do something different for our girls' Thanksgiving outfits this year. I found this adorable Timeless Treasures owl fabric and set out to make "owl outfits" in lieu of turkey outfits. It was my first attempt to make a skirt (or anything else for that matter) without a pattern and was actually pretty easy. I was pleased with how the skirts came out. As for the owl applique, that was done by hand with wonder under and a zig zag stitch on the sewing machine. ANYONE can do this! If you are inspired, e-mail me and I'll give you directions on how to do it yourself! Who-whooooo will be the cutest girls at Thanksgiving this year? I happen to think it will be my three favorite little girls in the whole world. ;)

Pumpkin Patchwork

I love these Pumpkin Patch dresses, inspired by the well-known K's Kids children's embroidered line of clothing. These dresses feature 3 pumpkin appliques on blue gingham, robin's egg blue ribbon across the empire waist, and initials in Curlz across the chest. Perfect for October and November... visiting the pumpkin patch, Sunday morning, a weekend at Grandma's, or Thanksgiving dinner.

Holidays are Here!

It's time again for Thanksgiving and "fall" outfits/dress! Here is an example of a reversible Thanksgiving dress... scarecrow on one side and funky/cute fall fabric with initials on the reverse. Matching bows and ribbon socks are the icing on the cake!

It's never too early to prepare for Christmas! Here is a Christmas dress I made last week. This mom is on the ball!

(Here's the reverse of the Christmas dress... candy cane fabric and monogrammed initials... much cuter in person!)

Need holiday attire or holiday gifts? Get orders in now. The last day for new orders is November 15th!!! After that, I'll be working on my own holiday sewing! :)  Personalized shirts are always a great gift for nieces and nephews, friends of your kids, etc.  Boys can look cute, too!  Here's an example:

for Claire

Claire's mommy wanted a "suprise dress". Her only instructions were not specific to holiday and something that could be worn fall and winter. I always get kind of nervous surprising people... what if they don't like it? But, I was up for the challenge. I think this trendy winter blue corduroy and fall brown combo does the trick. I loved this corduroy... so sweet yet sophisticated. Pair this with a tee and leggings for fall or turtleneck and tights for winter. Simple, cute, and classic... my favorite! I hope Claire and her mommy think so, too!

Funky Fall Dresses

I was in the mood to get some fall dresses made for my little girl, so these are what I came up with this week. First, a "funky floral" fall pillowcase dress. Very retro and bright, but I love it! The one simple initial is all this dress needed as far as embroidery goes.

I found this beautiful corduroy at Hobby Lobby back in the summer and finally got around to finishing a project with it. I lined this dress with one of Adam's soft t-shirts for the ultimate in comfort! A 3" large "R" on the front and no shoulder bows.... maybe I'll add some later. I think I'll pair this with a brown shirt and leggings, and maybe a lavendar/brown hair bow.

Last, I had to make an "October" dress. I'm not really big on Halloween-y stuff, but my little girl LOVES all things spiders thanks to her big brother. When I saw this spider design, I knew I had to make a dress for her! I'm in the process of making Riley the matching spider shirt but it isn't yet finished. I'll post pics as soon as it is.
